Regarding Topic5: Digital business model——Social media marketing for local Shopee sellers

Learning content: While browsing Shopee, I studied the top-ranked individual sellers in Malaysia and found that they ingeniously combined TikTok and Instagram for traffic diversion and also sold second-hand items on Shopee. This was quite novel to me, similar to the Chinese app "Xianyu", which is a dedicated platform for selling second-hand or idle items. Users can freely communicate and display items for sale in their own windows, with the option to set their own prices or auction them off.

Sellers can showcase the production process through short videos to build emotional connections, which can increase conversion rates by three times compared to ordinary product images. However, I also noticed that creating content requires a continuous investment of time. For small businesses, it's manageable to produce sales videos irregularly, but for individual sellers, it's challenging to maintain a daily update frequency.

Business application: This combination of social media and e-commerce sales model is a low-cost and high-return marketing solution for small and micro enterprises in Malaysia, which is related to our topic 5 on digital business models. Enhancing digital business can effectively improve business automation and make selling goods more convenient and efficient.
