Regarding Topic6: Digital Supply Chain and Demand Management——Smart Inventory Management at 99 Speedmart

Learning Content: I went to 99 Speedmart with a friend after having dinner and taking a walk to digest. Although I have been there many times, every time I walk past the entrance of 99 Speedmart, I am irresistibly drawn in. Maybe it's because of the wide variety of products and relatively affordable prices.

I took a brief look at the newly deployed AI inventory management system at 99 Speedmart. It uses high-definition surveillance cameras to monitor the stock levels of goods in the warehouse in real time, which can reduce inventory checking time and improve picking efficiency. Staff were transporting goods, with boxes of goods being moved from the warehouse to the store, unpacked, and then neatly arranged on the shelves. The system can predict popular products and automatically generate replenishment orders, reducing the out-of-stock situation by 30%.

However, this comes with a financial issue. Such a system requires a high initial investment and it takes 3 to 4 months to recover the cost.

Business Application: The transportation strategy of 99 Speedmart reminds me of the Internet of Things (IoT) and automation mentioned in Topic 6. For the operation of a supermarket, improving efficiency is very necessary. Enhancing automated operations makes it more convenient for store staff and warehouse workers.

The seven-week course is coming to an end. This digital marketing course has been an eye-opener. The course on Digital Marketing has enabled me to systematically master the core strategies of SEO, social media, content marketing and data analysis.
